Russia hits Kyiv with a massive, bigger air attack of the war so far

London – Russia during the night hit Ukraine with the greatest attack of missiles and drones of the war, launching a record number of drones in kyiv, hours after the president of the United States, Donald Trump, spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin to urge him to put an end to the conflict.

Hundreds of Russian drones pulled the capital all night while the videos show large fires and smoke columns that extend along the horizon. The residents described him as one of the most intense nights since the beginning of the large -scale invasion and the people in kyiv are waking up on Friday morning to the city that covers the smoke of the fires still burning.

At least one person was killed and 23 people injured, according to the mayor of kyiv, since many people spent the night in refuge in the city’s subway system.

Later, Trump made a call with the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during which Zelenskyy said Trump had agreed to work together to strengthen the aerial defenses of Ukraine.

Russia launched 539 drones and around a dozen missiles, according to the Ukraine Air Force. Another record continues of less than a week ago, since Russia has dramatically increased the production of kamikaze drones used in the attacks.

The aerial assault began shortly after Trump made a phone call with Putin, during which the Russian leader again refused to accept the fire and pointed out that the war would continue.

Zelenskyy called the attacks after the so -called “cynical”, with Ukrainian officials who suggest that they were a forceful message of Kremlin to accompany the call.

“In particular, Air Raid’s first alerts in our cities and regions yesterday began to sound almost simultaneously with the media reports that discussed a phone call between President Trump and Putin,” Zelenskyy wrote on Friday morning. “Once again, Russia is showing that it has no intention of finishing war and terror. Only around 9 am today, Air Raid alert ended in kyiv. It was a brutal and insomnia night.”

After talking with Trump on Friday, Zelenskyy said the call, which was planned before the attacks, had been “very important and fruitful.” Zelenskyy said that the two leaders had agreed “we will work together to strengthen the protection of our skies,” he added that they had agreed a meeting between their teams.

Zelenskyy said that he and Trump had also had a detailed conversation about “capacities of the joint defense and production industry”, saying that Ukraine is ready for “direct projects” with the United States, particularly related to drones.

The huge air attacks in Russia occur when the Trump administration has stopped the deliveries of some key weapons, including air defense missiles to Ukraine. Earlier this week, the Pentagon confirmed that it had a shipment of weapons destined for Ukraine that was already in Poland and that it includes interceptor patriot missiles, saying that he was reviewing the actions of US weapons to evaluate his own preparation.

The measure has triggered the alarms in the capitals of kyiv and European, as well as between the Democrats and some Republicans, who fear that Trump is more widely raising the support of the United States of Ukraine.

After his call with Putin on Friday, Trump said he was “very disappointed” with the Russian leader, saying he thinks he is not ready to finish the war. Zelenskyy has accepted immediate fire, but Putin has refused.

Trump has recently threatened with more hard sanctions against Russia if he continues to slow down the walks of walks, but until now he has been reluctant to impose them.
