Massachusetts student dies in Bahamas after falling from the balcony

A last year student from Massachusetts College died in the Bahamas after accidentally falling from a balcony days before graduation, according to Bentley University.

Gaurav Jaisingh died while on the annual senior class trip of the University of Bentley to the Bahamas, said the school and the police.

The beginning of the University of Bentley will take place on Friday.

“We share our deepest condolences with the family, friends and loved ones from Gaurav. While local authorities are investigating, it seems that Gaurav accidentally fell from a balcony. We will share more information when they are available while we respect the privacy of their family,” said Bentley University in a statement to ABC News.

“This is a huge tragedy for our community. Bentley is providing resources for those who are affected and encourages anyone who needs support to reach the University Advice Center,” he continued.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force confirmed that an American man fell from a upper level balcony while he was inside his hotel room with other roommates.

“It was found that it does not respond in a lower floor,” according to the police.

The emergency services responded and transported it to a hospital, but succumbed to their wounds while they took him to the hospital, according to the police.

Death investigation is still ongoing, police said.

Jaisingh, originally from Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, was a member of Delta Sigma Pi Fraternal and the Association of Students in the South of the School, according to his LinkedIn profile.
